Nothing you say will change my mind, I know that the job will be done, I know they will use the right things.

Well if something happens to the car and Fiat don't want to honour your warranty then you've been warnedNothing you say will change my mind, I know that the job will be done, I know they will use the right things.

Thanks for your thoughts guys and girls. I'll definitely be asking why it needs an oil change so soon, but there's not really anything I can do about it. As Tony has pointed out, even if I changed the oil myself I couldn't reset the light, which is really annoying when night driving!
I'll let you know what the garage says later. Still feels like I'm having my pants pulled down over this. They're saying I should change the oil now, and then have a first service in March which will include an oil change, even though the car will only have done a couple of thousand miles.
Shame really, my old Golf tdi PD managed nearly 20k between services (and oil).
Thanks for the info Tony
the guy at the garage was actually quite helpful, although he couldn't really give me any idea on how long it would be until the next oil change. He also confirmed what you said about checking oil quality at service before just changing it.
Only problem was, as it was being done I started to wander round their used cars and ended up driving a GP Sporting multijet 130 with leather. Very very nice car, very tempted to trade - especially as they are willing to do a swap with money my way.
Nah you don't want a GP! People won't look at you and point and smile or come up to you in the street and comment on your car and you won't be able to look out at your car and smile. Thanks for the info Tony

I am of course being sarcastic If a GP is better for you then go for it
Just keep in mind the prices you can get new ones for

You could swap for a new one and still have change in your pocket perhaps!
Yeah it is a little girly. If you think that the 500 is girly though you should have a testdrive of a 500c..... man I felt very much on show so to speak. Definitely couldn't get away with driving one of them myselfHow very very dare you dude... after 3 years I still do that... and both my daughters boyfriends are awestruck too lol! 500 is a bit girly after all's said n done... No offence lads!
Edit :- For those who have had an Abarth or breathed on and added extras to their standard 500's they CAN look cool... (ish)
Again I simply don't see how a garage will make money when they have to put 3 litres of the proper spec oil in, an oil filter, an air filter and possibly spark plugs? I very much doubt you'll get proper spec proper quality parts.
But does he have an MJ? I know the OP does but Mr £50 service doesn't specify what he hasSpark plugs are not a sevicable item on the multijet.

True true.I'd hope he does. Only way a 50 quid sevice even comes close to making sense is if it's just an oil and filter change.
