Hello,

Usually i shift my 1.4 manually because Hong Kong is a city full of slopes. But last night my left hand was busy so that i let the car shift itself in Sport mode. While i was gunning it back home, i noticed that the dualogic gearbox more than once chose to upshift way beyond the 6,000 redline mark; more like 6,800-7,000rpm.

Was i delusional? The exhaust note sounded badass. What is the realistic redline of the engine under proper working temperature?

Regards

If you leave it in "manual", but don't touch the lever, it will shift up just before hitting the limiter. All Selespeed/Dualogic gearboxes are programmed that way.

Quick check this morning - speedo is approx. 10% high compared to GPS indicated speed,

i.e:

- 27mph shown as 30
- 36mph shown as 40
- 55mph shown as 60

Rev counter may be similarly calibrated.

Mine shows the same differences when compared to my TomTom. I wasn't sure how accurate sat nav GPS calculated speeds were so I stuck it in my lorry that has twin tachos and the GPS readings are 100% in accord with them.
