My 500 POP is finally at the dealer!

I took advantage of the scrappage scheme and traded in my much loved but tired Cinquecento Sporting. Which I'll be sad to see go.

But I can't wait!

Stupidly I'm second guessing myself and thinking, 'should I have added X or Y' but I know once I get it I won't care because of the big grin I'll have from ear to ear! :D

500 POP 1.2, Elecroclash Grey, Red interior with black ambience, two tone alloys, aircon and blue and me. Oh and some nice 500 floor mats.

PS: Activated the 7 day insurance with Aviva and the annual quote they gave me was over £100 more than other quotes I've had. More 'Quote me shocked' than 'Quote me happy'!

They will always quote you higher just because :) They quoted me about £100 more than my online quotes and all I did was say well I've been quoted x amount and if you beat it I'll take my insurance up with you and they beat my other quotes.

They quoted me over 4 times as much as my online quote... how shocked do you think I was :p

Hey congrats Podsnap.

You're scrapping a similar car to me (mine's a much-loved 94 cinquecento SX) and buying a similar 500! (I'm getting a cha cha cha Azure Pop 1.2, with tan leather seats, chrome kit, chrome mirrors, Air con and Blue n me), so I can reckon you've chosen well!!

The only thing I thought about adding when it was too late was the interscope, and although I'm sure its great the standard system is apparently great anyway, so I'm happy again.

I've been totally shocked in a good way about the insurance on the Pop – it is waaaaay cheaper than I expected. I got quoted by Aviva same as you and I thought they'd made a mistake it was much less than I was expecting, so I took it as I didn't believe it could get any cheaper. However since then I've looked online and found I can get insured for about 100 quid even less than that – and I live in sarf London.

BUT – I'm thinking the Aviva quote is probably worth it because it seems to be better quality. If your car gets trashed in the first year they replace it with exactly the same car - all the extras etc. Hope I've done the right thing. I called Admiral as they and Elephant were the cheapest online but they don't replace your car with the same and that put me off. Don't know if that's worth paying £90 quid extra for but its done now!

Hope you got your car okay - have fun!

Not that I'm excited or anything!

Right off to play some more. It's just too cool!
