General Abarth 500 & Alfa MiTo - back to back test drive

Hi Rob:)

Good to "see" you again(y) I liked your write up & it seems the A500 had the same effect on you as it did me. A Epic little car:cool:

To everyone, don't get hung up on the stupid class issue:eek: I merely mentioned from an outsiders perspective.

You'll not find it amongst other Italian Car owners (well I haven't, not even when I had my much missed Sei).

Respect to all:worship:

Cheers,

Simon

hey there Simon(y)

talking of brand snobbery - there was a thread on abarthforum the other day debating whether non abarth owners should be allowed on it(n)

you have to laugh or you would cry
...and to think Clubcento is accused of being 'elitist'

yes, it seems they dont even have the word 'debate' in their dictionary over there. any comments they view as negative, irrespective of whether constructive, gets you a warning for trolling - wtf??!! :D

i guess everything is 100% perfect about every abarth so far as they're concerned.

thank goodness for fiatforum and our more balanced approach to debate :)

Not so sure :p You get lynched here if you talk about French cars and mention that some of them were actually good in the past ;) Plus I've been accused of trolling for not being ooh yeah wooo 500's are great and so on and so forth :p

yes i know nowhere is perfect, and the zealots get everywhere, but at least posts here are generally left alone and you can have a to and fro about various things :)

certainly i appreciate most people with or wanting a particular model will defend and contest things said about it they dont like, but there is no point having a sanitised forum where anything negative is warned or removed. i had a few visits over there but i wont be back and im glad to be back home in here :)

Definitely :) I think people should also accept that sometimes the car that they like isn't always the best. Be it a Fiat, Renault, Peugeot, BMW or whatever and that sometimes people aren't criticising or suggesting another just for fun but for a constructive reason :)

Not seen the 500 Abarth, but just got back from checking out the Mito. Gorgeous Veloce in white in the showroom with black light surrounds. Felt nice inside although all round vision might not be that great. Solid red one outside which could'nt have done many miles, but already stone chipped on one front wing and several marks on the bumper. Same old **** Fiat Alfa paint then. This is an issue that Fiat/Alfa really should address.
