I was going with the standard Lounge seat, until I sat in a Sport with leather. Big mistake as it cost me £700, the sport seats are much better so do go for leather in the Lounge if you can. Road noise is fairly loud but its not that bad, just gets annoying on those roads that have very poor surfaces and a Lounge wont be quieter than a Pop.
Interseting verdict on the KA, glad you prefer the 500 as although I actually like the KA its a really ugly little thing.
Alan Gibson in Basingstoke has been discounting 500s by £600. I would ring around dealers to get a good quote and then contact your dealer again.

Thanks all,i will go for the leather seats definitely!!

One more thing, the 1.2 pop i drove was very nippy and quite lively, will the lounge model be just as quick with the extra weight caused by the aircon, glass roof etc?

Wont make a great deal of difference tbh, wont the alloys on the Lounge be lighter than the steels on the Pop? The Pop you drove probably was a bit loosened up, when you get your Lounge the engine will be tight and will feel sluggish for a while.

Some modern high strength steel wheels are actually lighter than basic alloys; but I don't know if that is the case with the 500.

Exactly right. my own preference was for the sport but I wanted the glass roof, std on the lounge plus a few other bits and that is why I think the configurator is one of the most useful tools around.

As the Borg might say "your uniqueness will be added to the 500 collective". (y)

Ha! Me too! ST fan! I knew there was a reason we were sympatico tony! :D

I'm so sad whenever the missus gets on the phone for the evening the first thing I do is go into the "On Demand" section on the cable box to catch up on an old one I've probably seen a hundred times before. My order of preference at the moment is; Voyager, Star Trek TNG, then the classic Star Trek. Can't be a***d with Enterprise or Deep Space Nine. :slayer:

Right, we need to have a get together dressed as Klingons driving 500... That will turn some heads!!!!:D

We have ST conventions quite often in Bournemouth and Bournemouth Uni even has it's own club, in fact it's just up the road from Heidi. lol.

Name: USS Excalibur (Bournemouth University Star Trek Club

You can see hundreds of (sad) people dressed up as various cast members but as yet I haven't seen any in a 500 yet and no way would I be the first. :)

Somehow I see you as a McCoy...:D

Its worse than that, its a Fiat, Jim!

i agree with your ranking of the various series tony, although i like DS9 except that it was a bit like coronation street in space, ie a bit soapy. there was a girl at one of the youth clubs I used to run who looked a bit like Odo, never said it to her face tho lol. been tempted to get the remastered classic series on DVD with the new special effects bits. Colour me sad.

Whilst we are off topic (and can anyone honestly say that any thread on here stays on topic) ..... If you were a shapeshifter, why would you choose to look like Odo? even his bucket looks better than he does. lol.

Yeah I often wondered why odo kept that semi mleted face, as if Kira would fancy THAT :ROFLMAO:

And I loved land of the giants and lost in space too! Was the fella who played Dr Smith really a paedophile? Or is that just something the Simpsons came up with?

Hi There,

I'm not sure if you've made your decision yet, but I thought I'd back up the non-rattling side nonetheless :)

My 1.2 Lounge is getting on towards a year now, not many miles however, ~4k, I have had no rattling as of yet! Genuinely, I'm not just saying this because I bought a car that rattles and want to prove myself wrong, it amazes me what a solid car it is.

One noise there is though, is significant wind noise, and from what I read over at nf500.com, it appears as though the noise originates from the seam between the glass roof and the windscreen surround? I'm not sure if there is a discussion about this over here. Some people seemed to have remedied this by filling it with something, or taping over? (in a less crude way than just taping, but you know what I mean). I haven't done it yet, as it doesn't bother me enough, but if you are very picky about noise, you may want to test drive a glass roof and get going at some speed to see if you notice it. Just a thought ;-)
