I purchased some nice uprated bulbs both H1 and H7. Have three fitted after much fiddling and some skinned knuckles BUT have a problem with drivers side main beam. I have bulb seemingly properly seated and when I move the clips back into place the bulb is still wobbly.Have been trying to sort it for 1/2 hour and my patience is wearing very thin. Help - what have I/am I doing wrong?:bang:

If it is the ones in the wheel arch you need to ensure that the bulb is seated correctly. It needs to sit with the flat side at the bottom if I remember correct. I held the end of the bulb with the tip of my finger of one hand to keep it in position and popped the clips back with my other hand one at a time.

the problem is with the clip on one side it does not hold the bulb in tightly. I have fiddled with it for long enough and will have to make do. It seems reasonably secure. I must have bent the clip some way when pulling it aside to fit bulb. My sore knuckles and fingers prevent me from doing any more!!!!

I'm thinking of changing the bulbs now most of my driving is in the dark. Am I right in assuming I need to change four bulbs H1 for dipped and H7 for main beam, plus two more for DRL if I'm being fussy?

The Philips Xtreme seem the best option, any opinions?

...and before anyone mentions it - don't use the word HID!

Yep.
You could try Osram Night-Breakers as I have found them to be A1 on my wee 500 and a massive improvement on the std 500 ones..
Haven't found anything suitable yet to replace the DRL's though.
