There's a car supermarket at Slough Berkshire advertising the Fiat 500
1.4 Lounge in orange pre registered but 08 reg and 0 miles for £8999
(and for an orange one that is £2000 off list price.)

Pre registered means its priced as a 2ndhand one but brand spanking new the salesman says its from a Fiat main dealer who can't sell them and needs the cash.Seems like a great discount so what is the catch.

Sounds like a steal and from a biggish company thats got big premises and use big advertising each week (pile em high sell em cheap style place).

Is it a bargain or a con do ya think guys and gals?

thanx

there is no catch, other than you will be the second owner and the warranty clock has already started ticking. Dealers often pre-reg cars in their own name to hit sales targets and receive bonuses from manufacturers

Fiat dealers going bust maybe. Hasn't there been a few recently?

The Orange probably has some awful colour combination or something, they do sell them cheap though.

If you buy a new car and try and sell it immediately you will instantly lose the VAT as you drive off the forecourt as a bare minimum. Very few cars actually command premiums in real life and tend to be Ferraris etc. Even they depreciate. Friend of mines brother in law bought a one year old Ferrari for half the new price....

10700 less the VAT is £9106 (100 x 10,700 divided by 117.5 = 9106) so the price is pretty close...

I have phoned up and sales guy keen to take a deposit off me but it not yet in stock and when it is it'll be 200 miles away in Bath Rd Slough Berkshire. He
Says its brand new and 0miles but treated as 2ndhand cos its pre-registered, dealer has got more 500s than he can sell and thats why trade-sales buy em cheap and can sell them cheap.

Its a good sales spiel if its true. Some peeps pay that for a specd up Pop or a 1.2 this 'claims to be' a 1.4 lounge spec. Its well cheaper than any dealer demo I have seen up north. You guys and gals are so lucky down south :yum:£2000 off an £11000 1.4 Lounge (top engine top spec) seems kinda good and an 18% discount.

Hope this tip off helps someone on here
and if anyone buys it at that price I want to know how the deal went and what the catch was, and is it any good, and are the salesmen fit and can I have a ride. ;)

thanx

they don't look very apealing in orange (more of a rusty colour) maybe they pre reged a few or its an import possibly from ireland where they deal in euro's ? plus the 1.3 derv or 1.2 petrol seems the engines of choice for most

£100 less to tax makes a big difference
