Can the new 500 take a tow bar??

Dunno, but have you had an order form from Simonstone yet?

When have they told you your 500 is being built?

Hi Mark - yeah, was told week 5 for a build which is early feb, and an estimate of early march for delivery.

havent had any invite to their launch yet though, you??

I've had no order form, no invite & have been given a wk 5 build too.

Should be on for March 1st delivery.

I'm sure I've read something, somewhere, about a flip out optional towbar.

Mark - i've had no order form either. i insisted on a recipet for the £500 as its going through my business, but this was porfessionally done on excel and looks like a 5 year old tried to do it!

Flip out towbar - like the one on the corsa? Knowing my luck that wont be a retro-fit item.

I have persuaded Andy to send me a letter detailing my order, I don't want the car to arrive & be wrong.

I was given a big brochure from my dealer, he was only given 100 of them.

There is an option listed for all models which read as follows ''Pull out towing hook with wiring harness''

Didnt happen to say how much did it??

About 2 days after giving my deposit I got an order form listing what I ordered and prices etc so at least I know what I am getting. If I was you I would go to your dealer and not leave until you get your order form filled in.

I also read somewhere in this forum what we are allowed to change the spec on our car up to a week before the build date, which is BS !!

I placed my order and then about 2 weeks later my dealer faxed the order through to some woman called Wendy and apparently once the fax has been sent through then its too late to change anything. I was thinking of different combinations of interior and exterior just in case but now I dont have a choice anymore, I have to live with it.

I am also suprised that one or 2 of you have been given a build week date. I asked my dealer about it and he told me he didnt have that info and that all builds are listed by month, ie, he couldnt/wouldnt give me. All he would say is that I was scheduled for a May delivery.

He has been VERY helpful so I dont have any reason to doubt him, maybe his info is a bit wrong. I know all the dealers are meeting in Birmingham, at the NEC I think, sometime this week for a big pow-wow so maybe the rest of us/you will know more very soon

500 orders stay at 'Light Variability' until about 2 weeks before they are built. This means the colour/options/wheels etc can be changed, but not the model or engine.

Whoever said this can be done up to a week before build is the one supplying the BS as it just ain't so.

detachable towbar is £246.75

Hhhhmmm I was thinking of changing the colour or the leather/trim, which is why I asked my dealer the question and he said NO. He said once the order was faced then that was that.

I dont want to change the model or engine at all, I am very happy with those.

ANY info on the Interscope sound system, I was told I cant get that yet, for my order or from parts after I get the car (yet), is that correct??

Yours must be one of your dealers initial allocation of two cars then, as they were the only orders that were faxed?

Those cars are Week 3 build, so it is already too late to change anything.

This gets stranger and stranger.

My dealer faxed my order off to FIAT, but lasy week I was able to change the wheels & add rubbing strips.

Now I'm confused.

Scrogg says a few posts above that things like wheels, interior & styling bits can be changed up to 2 weeks prior to build. Model & engine cant tho.

What wheels you changed to?

I fancied the 16" 421 wheels, but there is a delay on those, so I ended up with the 15" 433

I've gone for the 16" 17 spoke wheels, which will delay the car til early March, but worht the wait

Last week the first orders were amendable, this week they're not.
