Interesting ad on eBay.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322116051493

Given the thickness of the steel used on the 500, I can't see anyway that you could have it hot dipped galvanised without major warping and distortions. So I'd wager a good amount that this isn't really a galvanised 500.

Maybe cold zinc painted, but I bet it's not galvanised. What's other people's opinions? In the UK a 500 would certainly benefit from being galvanised, but I just don't see how you'd do it.

cheers, Steve

It would aid plausibility if there was just one image as evidence!
To be really effective it would take lots of preparation with baths of chemicals to clean out joints and seams.
Even if it has been hot galvanised that wouldn't be a major selling point for me.

Me thinks that a galvanizing spray like Galvafroid was used before primer
We use it regularly at work
I used to use a red lead before primer back in the day on my big Healey etc

I have seen a fully galvanised 500. it was at a micro car rally years ago.

The guy worked in a galvanising plant, and he had galvanised every but he could, including the shell.

The engine casing he left unpainted in a galvanised finish, must have increased the weight alot.
