I bought a new Bravo in 2007 (1.9MJ 150 Sport). It doesnt have a DPF and there was no option to have one....

There must be as its needs to be there to advise when malfunctioning.

Absolutely not one there. The one time I have seen one clog it pops up as an engine management warning but that's all you get, an orange light no message. The Bravo has a dedicated light and you get an "anti-pollution filter" message across the dash.

Also, it was standard on the later (1.6) GP Sportings.

That opportunity would be short-lived when running towards Euro 5 (2009).

I think the salient Q is: would it be advisable to buy a 1.9 150 Sport with or without a DPF from someone doing a six mile run to work?

I might not have advised properly.. Its a 12 mile run to work.
24 mile round trip..

I do a 9.1 mile trip to work, plus 9.1 mile back in my 1.9 120hp 8 valve. That accounts for half my annual mileage, with the rest being longer trips. I bought my car with 15 miles on the clock, now at 42850, and I paid £8,574.01 for it. I've never regretted my purchase.:)
