engine and gearbox came out today ?

the best way to get the box and engine out is to get an punto mk1 boot carpet
or something similar then put it on a smooth surface ive used mdf




then drop it onto the the carpet



and in hardly any effort you have to hole lot slid out no need to jack it up aether

Heh, haven't seen that done before

I suppose the car would raise itself up a bit as well, as the engine is coming out.

Not sure about the ECU tbh, I know it can be done, it's been mentioned around here before and someone probably knows off the top of their head. But you can either get them blanked, so they re-learn the next blue key/code block combo they come across, or have the immobiliser part disabled altogether.

yeah any gearbox will cope fine with the 16v! I would just use the a "known" good box!

As for the P85 ECU reddy4bed is your man to have it decoded.

Ok thank you cinq box is in good nick replacing oil wen its in gave it abit more of a clean aswell

made another attempt at wire tucking



wires tucked and not cut as much as before just extending





no wires visible except the headlight ones

engine came today at 7:30





striped it down from all punto parts and replaced with cinq parts



engine and box are in :slayer:

right hers my problem ive gone through punto mk1 haynes and cinq haynes

and on punto side red/black green violet/black unconnected
and for cinq side black/white orange/green unconnected

ive made the loom now i think just got to send ecu off to get immo cleared and thankyou i like it to

We did it without a D4 much easier on an 899 6F loom LOL just not got a rev meter

lol all you need is a wire from one of the coils from what i remember

and update time

first thing got the altinator sorted out all pulley swapped over because the bearing was gone in 16v one looking good



then a bit of fettling on the mount to clear the belt and pulley



while i had strut undun i found this :bang:





hears how it looks for now until i get a new nut and bolt not very tidy tho lol

What did you do, tape some glass paper to a worktop and run them around on that face down? Then polish up?

I know your finger is there to show how reflective they are, but it kinda looks like you are pointing them out as if we'd be distracted by something else in the picture

i purchased a nice bench metal polisher does a very nice job it takes 3 steps of compound for this effect lol
