hi,

recently iv been experiencing loss of power as accelerating, (sort of spluttering), then if were to take foot off accelerator then put back on and push slowly would be ok . and this morning pulled out of a junction, trying to nip out before a car was coming, and severe lack of power, then engine management light flashed on a few times, then no problems at all was fine for rest of journey.

i also realised this morning that the thermometer reading cant possibly of been correct, as i had to remover frost from windscreen yet it said it was 10 degrees, and a little later it said 18 degrees, in the middle of march in NE england, i dont think is correct lol.

any one help/ no the problems before i head to the garage?

thanks :)

first thing i would check is the throttle body and breather pipes are clear

with air box off do this

if that doesn't work i would suspect (assuming your car is petrol) its either your coil pack, HT leads, spark plugs have a fault often a cracked plug and are breaking down (arcing) under load the Flashing EML is a warning of a missfire usually if its been wet or damp where you are has it got worse?

or it could be a blockage in the injector rail
