When I get them welded up onto the runners, I am thinking of mounting them slightly offset in order to provide a bit more space for the gearstick. I will ditch the door pockets and modify the door handles in order to provide plenty of space. to shift it back and forth hopefully.

I'm not modifying the shell so it can be reverted to normal. The door pockets can just come out anyway, and the door handles can be picked up from a scrappie for next to nothing. So its no biggie really

It's okay, I appreciate the input from others. I could have picked some much worse seats to try and fit
Don't ditch the door pockets, the panel will be showing you will end up cutting yourself up. But you can remove just the handle tho.

Handle can usefully be replaced by a strap (may save your kidneys in a side impact)

No need to worry any more, I am ditching the Alfa seats. I am going to revert it back into its original condition as much as possible.

Pshhh, balls to that plan.
I was thinking about selling the Cinq on as my insurance quoted me £13 to change insurance over to a 1.3 toyota starlet, but my brother has one and now his GF does as well, so it wouldn't be that nice anymore. So I'm keeping the cinq and looking out for a 1.2 to rebuild and make a little project to scare the pants of Corsa owners ;P
