Hi,

Im looking for an Mk1 Uno Turbo.. The car used to belong to my dad from new untill 1996.

The reg is F121 MGU, and this is what the DVLA site brings up.

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for F121 MGU are:

Now looking at date of liabillity, its either been scraped or its just been left.

Is there anyway of finding that out??

Probably been scrapped, would hopefully say SORN if it was declared off the road, one of my first cars is listed and I know that was scrapped about 10 years ago. One thing you could do is try writing to the DVLA requesting information on previous owners and then contact the last one to find out. I think it cost £5 but not sure if they will tell you unless you're the owner.

Did your dad live in Swanley, Kent by any chance? If so I think I remember the reg. number as your dad sold it to a friend of mine who scare the living c**p out of me with it in the time he had it!

Blimey.. 5 owners.
My dad was the first owner untill 1996.

I'd agree with the above opinion.

It's probably now crushed/scrapped. My old Uno T had a similar dated of liability, did a bit of investigation work, and yes, it had been scrapped not long after that date.

Not many of 'em left nowadays, unfortnately. Cracking little motor. :)
 
What investigation work did you do.?

Did you have to trace the old owners? Or go to the DVLA?

I knew the owner of the garage who I sold it to, and they contacted the new owners whilst I was there, where they confirmed that the car had indeed be scrapped.

Apparently needing ££££'s of welding underneath.

Not surprised really, the car had done 153,000 miles, (original turbo & gearbox), and was pretty knackered by the time I sold it to the garage.

:)
