Hi Guys,
I've just joined the forum as I need some advice. I have a 1996 Uno Fire 1100 which I have owned since 1998. It's now done 127k km's and has been very trouble free over the past 20 years. Recently I've had a bit of work done on it - new clutch, distributor etc. However, about 3 weeks ago I had new front struts and tie rod ends fitted. A few days ago I noticed a noise coming from the transmission area which has got progressively worse. I suspected wheel bearings but I have inspected them and there doesn't seem to be a problem. I am concerned that I have noticed that the inner cv joint boot on the drivers side has split and separated. I have read that on some models this inner cv joint is wet and a failed joint can lead to the loss of transmission oil. There is no sign of any oil on the garage floor or around this area so I'm not sure about this. Does anybody have any idea what the problem could be as I'm reluctant to drive the car in this state but equally so, I don't want to take it in and be charged more then the car is worth. I will really appreciate some input on this.
Thanks.
