Technical horn problem

ALso check the connectors on the horn itself, the horn is right at the bottom at the front and of course the connectors corrode very badly.

i was just coming on to post this. mine just doesnt work at all either. will check it all over now lol

if it has corroded is it easy to get working. as i understand its an offence not to have a working horn (to warn others of your presence)

Yep, easy, on mine it was a matter of cutting off the old corroded plugs (female) on the end of the cables and replacing (or soldering on, your choice) and replacing after filing the rust off the connections on the horn (male). Should work for another 5 years. You can test the horn by simply putting power to it.

I am not sure about what model you have, but on my basic 45 the trouble was tracked down to the oxidized... how do I call it, "a bridging connector" on a fusebox, which, I believe, is used on "clean" 45 instead of a relay present on other models.
It is basically a bent piece of copper plate stuck to holes above the fuses - if I remember right, it is on the left-hand upper corner.
I tracked it only after going through the whole circuit and cleaning/resoldering all the other contacts. Of course, this was the last thing I got to... :D

thank you all of you for the replys
i checked the switch and seems to be ok. tommorow i will buy a new horn and see what will happen . the thing is that when i was checking the switch the horn you can slightly hear it it makes a very quiet sudden sound and then dies. the thing thas weird is that the lights on the dashboard light !!!!

I used to have this problem with my old Uno too. In the end I bought a nice set of air horns from Halfords and fitted them behind the grill. What a difference! One of the all time worthwhile Uno modifications without a doubt! :)
