My sister just bought a NEW car so i bought her trusty old fiat to learn to drive in i love my little car insurance aint to bad im 28 yr old female with NCB etc no alarm or any security on car etc and churchill and diamond both quoted me £580 TPFT on a provisional license so after me £120 deposit its only £46 a month (+pence)
so am extra chuffed with it dont think i will get cheaper insurance than that anyway thing is she had a tape deck in it and i just bought a MOS cd player second hand but working perfectly
now besides the fact she said her tape deck gave way a few weeks ago ( i think its a fuse so will change it in due course) so i take out the tape deck expecting to find the iso connector in the car SILLY SILLY ME!!!!
so i was wondering if anyone can help me understand how to fit it like what wires go where i know about the iso connector thingy but i dont have the original white block in my car see someone else has cut offf the white looking block thing and now theres just wires connected to the old stereo with cable connectors
so me buying the iso connector is no good so i was hoping to find a wiring diagram to know what wire to put where as i think i have to cut the iso connector of my cd player unless anyone has any better ideas!!!!
any help will be greatly appreciated
:p

Welcome to the forum :D

Have you tried searching back through the cable a little further? On mine, i had the white cable on the end, pulled at the cable a little and from behind the little box space thing popped out the two ISOs which had been secured there since new.

You can also get the ISOs loosely with the simple connectors on the end, aslong as Luke (;) - resident uno and ICE expert)) tells you which colours go to which pins, it will be dead easy to fit new ISOs. I did the same on mine since I wanted to add extra wiring for rear speakers.

Welcome to the Forum Angeloutkast!

By the way, £580 TPFT seems a bit steep to be honest. I have a lady friend, similar age, who paid less for TPFT on a '96 Nissan Micra. She also was on a provisional licence.

I've heard that Diamond, despite their claims, are NOT the cheapest place for lady drivers to get insurance.

Bear in mind that most insurance companies give you a 14 day money back guarantee, so it might be worthwhile shopping around on the internet to see if you can get a cheaper quote if you've just taken out a policy with Diamond.

Anyway, enjoy your Uno. They're cracking cars (y)

awwwwww thank you guys!!!
im liking it here already!!!
so anyway the saga of the lost keys finally ended they was under my pc desk dont ask me how!
anyway bit late and dark now to check out the cars wiring but i will look tomorow and post a reply with what i find and hopefully someone will know what im talking about!
anyway thank you all for replying and welcoming me
and just a footnote about the insurance i tried tesco and the aa and directline and esure screentrade and quotelinedirect etc they all wanted over a £1000! guess they dont like provisional drivers whatever your age but i still need to sort the logbook out so got to send off the form with £19 to get my logbook as my sister lost the logbook theres a thing about losing stuff in my fam! so that will probaly take about 4 to 6 weeks so i will shop around some more
thanks again guys xxxxxxx

ullo there!

my uno didnt have an ISO connecter. just as luke said, a + and - wire and an ariel and some speakers cables. i ended up wiring in my own iso plugs.

good luck!

I disagree, mine did, as I say, it was held behind the back of the little compartment, a bit of pulling and it pulled out, halfords agree too when they said they didn't think I needed a converter to have an ISO, which I didn't when I pulled the cable out and found the white plug on the end was a converter lead from ISO to fiat fitment...

Oh God she's back i hear ya say!!
so anyway the old stereo is soe sort of grundig tape deck
new one is a MOSCA029/A
so anyway i had a look in the car behind stereo i have looked behind the console and all i see what looks like two sets of wires for the speakers but the car only has back speakers they have funny little connector thingys on them
then theres another wire which i assume is power that also has a funny little connectors on the end of it 2 of them the same
i then have a wire which is not being used tucked behind the console with no connector on it and of course the aerial
i took some pics with the phone and uploaded them to the gallery maybe you guys know whats what!

https://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=10674

i think i did that right!!

ok just had another quick look
right i have:
black solo wire with a black cnnector thingy on it
a red sole wire with a connector on it
2 grey wires which i think i have sussed are rear left and rear right speakers they also have connectors on them
the aerial of course
and i have a black/white striped wire joined to a brown wire thats just hanging with no connector and kinda tied up so i dont think that was being used by old radio
so what ya think?!!!

just a afterthought but do i need this kind of thing :

http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pro...d=1304&cadid=3e18923d38c262ec5e388d04c8c06a6b

thanks again!!

i meant this:

http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock/iso.asp

so is this what i would need to get? then join up the wires to it?
it will have a wiring diagram a bit more detailed than the one they have there right? lol also if i wanted front speakers i shouild that first init?

(the other thing was for if i found the white thing which i didnt!) :bang:
