how do i take the heater vents off then??
I just pull the ones on my cinq out but only the ones on the outside, i think the center ones require a bit more effort

well if i have anypaint left over il see about taking them off but im running out of paint and iv got to do glovebox when it comes and the centre console.
Take centre consol out
OK You have missed 2 Pozi (+ drive) screws near the back – you got the 8MM.
When you have it free, with handbrake up, carefully unclip the upper gator press stud.
You will need to pull the bit at the back outwards to slide over the rest of the Central console.
I’m gona put my Uno back together, will have a look at the air vents – no promises…

I decided to give it a good scrub before replacing.
It won't come off otherwise. Be careful you don't brake it - I should really have said ease apart.

Er - Perhaps try leaving it to dry and seeing it you like natures effects.:nutter: Maybe give it a light sand, then recoat - depends on how / if the paint dries.
