all of a sudden, my idle speed went high when the engine got the working temperature, tryed unplugging hte stepper motor, worked for a few days, then again even without the stepper the idle is high, around 1500, with the stepper to 2000, what could it be?

Most likely , you have a leaking gasket. Try spraying some alcohol on the seals. When the idle speed changes you´ll find the spot.

where exactly do you recomend to spray? would some wd-40 do the trick in the same way?

Spray on the seals between the cylinder-head and the intake manifold. Try WD40 if you like. Break cleaner will be better because it will dissolve to gas much faster

Noticed where you live - great country, spent 10 days there last September, have got to come back!!

Yes to the above suggestion for finding some kind of air leak allowing idle speed to go high.

Also - try going around all the inlet manifold bolts and checking for tightness. Check all the bolts/nuts that bolt on something on the inlet side. Carburettor base nuts etc.

tried yesterday to find a leak, today we have here some rain and no garage for me as soon it stops will continue the search for the leak if there is some.
