Looking for some help with my Fiat Ulysse. It intermittently stutters when driving in 5th gear. On top of this, when idling the revs seem to drop quite a lot, occasionally cutting out.

Spark plugs/leads have been replaced, as have the air filter and oil filter. It seems to have worked for a while but the fault came back.

Hi - what engine is it? Petrol obviously - also, mk1 or mk2?

It is a Fiat Ulysse 2.0 EL petrol, manual 1998

I have had exactly the same problem on the same model and year.
To rectify it I disconnected the battery for about an hour, reconnected the battery and everything has been fine since.

As above or what I have done to cure this was to disconnect the ECU, and checked/cleaned connections some where dirty/rusty and reconnect. Not bothered by it since.
