General Major help needed please!

That was a good result, I was at a Fiat garage and they had a car in which needed a new body computer becuase somebody had tried to connect an alarm up to the multiplexed wiring.

Was the fuse under the floor cover by the drivers feet, there seem to be some big ones down there.

Now he's claiming for a new radio, new dash strim and new Climate Control unit (apparently we damaged it). As our genius fitter didn't fill out the pre-inspection forms, head office will no doubt give in and make us pay it (i can guarntee it was like that when the car came in originally).

Fun and games as ever :D

I doubt the AA guy will be able to do anything other than tow it to a dealer as they will need an examiner to trace the fault. I hope I am wrong for the poor guy going on the trip.

Just out of interest when mine died earlier this year Fiat sent the ADAC (German AA) out to look first and he had a laptop that would interrogate the computer for faults. Not a full examiner but a laptop in a case with a slack handful of different connectors. There was one fault listed (can't remember what it was) he cleared it down. You don't need the FIat garage for everything.

The AA use a similar system - first thing they tend to do is find the OBD port, find the make/model on their laptop, and interrogate the system that way!

They can clear basic faults, like engine sensor faults etc, but anything specific to the Ulysse set up (such as RT3, auto gearbox faults etc) can't be done by the AA. You can buy your own OBD II socket and basic software on the internet which will allow you to clear some faults, I think I may buy one to see what it's like.

We had the AA out once to clear a engine management fault, but they didn't have the new Ulysse on their system so used the Peugeot 807 set up instead.
