Hi all. Had the car serviced yestaerday at Reg Vardy in Leicester and they tell me that there is an outstanding recall campaign on my car. They give it the code '4606' and it is "something to do with the computer systems". Does anyone know what they do ?
As an aside can anyone recommend a decent Fiat dealer in the East Mids, because my impression of Reg Vardy is not good. (Did the service and didn't reset the service indicator - what else did they forget, I now wonder?)
Cheers for the help so far!

Just had a look on the Vehicle & Operator Services website http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/default.asp ,and cannot see the code 4606 relating to the Ulysse - there has already been 4 recalls, which have been discussed on earlier threads somewhere.

Can you elaborate a bit more on what they said or done?

Where abouts in the East Mids are you?

Stu

Just had a thought - it may be that Fiat use this code purely for a software upgrade - what version were you using before and what version are you using now?

Thanks Stuart. I also looked on VOSA and couldn't find it. All they said was that it was something to do with the computer system so I also assume that it is a software issue. I will have to check what version I am on later and note it down and then compare it next week. I am in Leicester.[8D]

No probs, I presume you know how to check software details?

Leicester - ok - two potential choices, Rockingham Fiat in Kettering, but never used them, or Motorvogue Northampton, my dealer - Motorvogue also have an Alfa franchise, so you tend to find the staffing/techinians are of better quality, maybe :)

Hi,

I suspect this is an ECU software update rather than RT3. Did they call it a recall or just a service update.

Andy

P.S Ned will know

Sorry John, didn't realise until just now - it must be catching!

I have too many buttons to choose from, and sometimes I hit quote and not edit :(

You know what they say - great minds think alike......

Back on topic, I asked my dealer about the 5.41 disk - they don't have it yet but are expecting an update from Fiat soon and will contact me when they have it!

John ;)

Lol at Leigh - What would you call exciting? Rear doors opening at speed - oops, that was a recall last year, me thinks.........:)

Not sure but i think 4606 is a recall for Body Computer software update, to stop incorrect reading of the engine oil.. Or Maybe RT3 software update.

This was a body computer update I believe. It took them 2 goes at it as they said they needed both keys to complete it but didn't bother to tell me, so I turned up with one!:D

They said that if they had done it with one, it would have meant that my key at home wouldn't have worked. Must have affected the immobiliser/transponders in some way.

I have blown Reg vardy's out hopefully and am going to try Research in Nuneaton on Monday to see if they can get the air con to last longer than 2 days. Vardy's (apparently) tested for leaks, didn't find any and re-gassed it. It worked for 2 days. Went back in on Wednesday with it and their AC test machine had broken down![8D]
