DIY Remap ...

I purchased some Remapping Software and Hardware on behalf of a friend. This evening I managed to remap his car. He was so pleased with the result he gave me the Remapping Software and Hardware. After reading through it for an hour I've descovered its able to read and write to my cars ECU.

Has anyone else remapped their own car?

Does anyone have a tuning file I could try on my car?

This is what he used to mess with the map on his 2 litre Astra.

Turns out the ECU in my Stilo(Bosch EDC15C7) is on the compatibility list.

Would like to be able to compare the MAPs.

Re: DIY Remap ...

My friend and I copied his friends map and installed it into his own car. It worked we were very suprised.

Not sure about the files that came with it, we didn't need them.

I'm only going to try it on the punto as ecus are fairly cheap, I've read loadsa stories about fried ecus after people using these kits, after I bought one though lol.

I doubt they're going to rr test each car to sell a lead for & software for 20 odd quid, they're generic maps so will be the same as most companies use.

I meant results from people who've done it compared to standard.

problem with many remaps are they make the engine think its cold, so put more petrol in through the system.

Im a little suspicious because of the price and the fact you can do it yourself, something doesn't seem right in my opinion

If your running Vista or W7, you can still use it, once installed on the PC you can tell Windows to run it using backwards compatibility to XP

Re: DIY Remap ...

The Stilo can be mapped through the OBDII port and I've just aquired a very good map from another forum member.

I'll let you know how things go next weekend.

Let us know how it goes, if its reasonably good i might consider it.

will need to give details on how hard it was to install and reinstall standard mapping
