hi all,
i have a 1993 1.6 i.e. tipo equipped with standard 13" wheels and 175/65/13 tyres , i want to know the size of 14" or 15" wheels that i can fit under my arches with no rubbing ( standard suspension ) no lowering
plzzzzzzzz help ......

I have 195/55/R15 AND I'm lowered 35mm with no rubbing on arches or gearbox. That includes cornering at speeds, Carrying passengers while cornering at speeds and bumpy road surfaces.

Your Tipo with no lowering you could fit 16" no problem.

"Bushboy" had 17"s on his Tipo when he had it and said it was ok.

Remember, its the offset of the alloy wheel as well thats important. Try not to go too much as this will induce bumpsteer. Also important if fitting bigger brakes as they will not sit inside all wheels the same size.

then i lowered it 110mm and had to put 15's on lol

can u tell me the tyre size u had, and the offset if u know it, im just getting my 1.6 tipo road worthy and i want the rims as big as possible.

thanks in advance

they were 205/40/17 30-38 offset with 60 centerbore pcd was 100. they were bought for a renault 19 but fitted on the tipo no bother.

when i lowered the car however i had to put 15's on due to e being tight fisted and not getting my arches rolled lol. may have been able to fit 17's on but would've had to have been a stupidly small profile of tyre like 205/30 or something and couldn't justify the expense of the tyres.

hope this helps any other questions post here or you can pm me or contact me via e-mail [email protected]

Fitting wobble bolts to take 100mm PCD is not a good idea. Ive seen these bolts come undone or shear, with fatal consequences. Please fit correct 98mm PCD wheels with correct offset. Contact a good wheel outlet like Elite to find the right wheels. Remember, alot of secondhand alloys have come off a crashed car, so will not be straight or will have hairline fractures in them.

As an engineering point of view, any bolt that sits at an angle, will be under huge stress forces. I for one would never use the wrong wheels with these bolts. Oh, ive seen standard wheel bolts shear because someone used the wrong offset of wheel too.

just springs and my mate sold me them, they were race springs that had a coil cut from them lol.

was very very low!! think i've got a pic somewhere i'll try to find it and post it up
