Help me please!!! I am having problems with my indicator fuse blowing on a 94 Tipo slx, i at first thought this might be a short due to water (only happened when raining) now has blown in the dry. Has anyone experienced this? I really don't want to take it to a auto electrician (too expensive) and i can't afford the Bravo HGT i want until summer!!!
Any help would be great

Thanks Mark

Hi, welcome to the forum :D,

I'm not sure of any particular problems with the Tipo but here are a few basic things you can check out.

I am assuming that the system has not been modded and that you have a couple of spare lamp bulbs available.

Remove each indicator bulb one at a time and check the following:

1. Correct wattage - normally 21W front and back and 5W for repeaters, check your manual or if you have something different let us know.

2. Check the bulb for any obvious damage or corrosion, is there a lot of silvering on the inside, is the filament sagging or does it flap about when you flick the bulb.

3. Check the connector for obvious damage or corrosion.

4. Check the wiring up to the connector. Is it pulled tight or twisted a lot? Any signs of damage? Is it rubbing up against anything? Can you see any bare copper?

5. Is there any loose water in the indicator?

The next thing is to check for any loose or trapped wiring around the fuse box.

Then it gets a bit more fiddly. Check relay and wiring around relay, wiring looms, inside and out. Have you done any work on the car, check those areas first.

If there are any known problems with the Tipo or first things to check then someone will post then up shortly.

Good luck :D

Dave. :)
