Hello all, I was pointed here by Gaz and thought I'd share a few pictures of Trixie the Tipo here!
One of only a few Fiat Tipo 2.0ie SLXs left in all now, this car came around by complete fluke...
I had a Fiat Panda 100HP I was looking to sell and a mate of mine wanted to buy it, without the funds he wanted to offer both cash and a car to me and this was the car he offered! I had to take him up on it, I've never had a Tipo before or really even thought of having one but it was a great opportunity!
The father of the person I got the car off has known the car since new - Trixie lived a quiet life for a good couple of decades with 1 owner doing very short journeys, not far off 15k miles it was on semi-recently, it was then driven by a Tipo enthusiast (who put the plate on, they may be on here?) and the mileage racked up massively to about 103k miles after only a few years - says something about the reliability for sure! The car ended up with the father and then was sold to his father who unfortunately passed and the car came back and then sat for a little while before being made available to me, I drove from Chippenham to Wrexham via Cardiff to pick up my girlfriend as well and we dropped off the 100HP and came back along the coast of Wales west from Wrexham and then down south through Brecon on the way back, going to Black Rock Sands first! Great trip before the lockdown came in!
Absolutely love the car and all of its creature comforts, electric windows, electric sunroof, economy gauge, super comfy interior, it's so quirky...
I love the look of it with the colour coded bumper bottoms and to my surprise the car has central locking as well! Particularly liking the plate on it too!
The engine does pull well, it's not brute speed but it's a nice relaxed comfy cruiser and our trip down was so easy. No changing down gears all the time, comfy seats mean you don't feel the need to have a break all the time too. What a great car and I can't believe I've never seen another on the road!
I've got a couple of loose plans for Trixie, new number plates, tidy up a couple of bodywork bits, but for once I actually have a Fiat that isn't ruined - the floor is great! Gives me time to focus more time onto the other Fiat projects I have while this becomes a daily...
