Love the idea of a local meet! It's been ages since I've seen another Tipo besides my MK1 (based in Liverpool).

Pleased to say I finished all the reassembly work last week and the car passed its MOT on Thursday with a clean sheet. I have quite a long list of things to finish, like fitting the radio cassette and sorting out interior trim and drivers' seat height adjuster that seems to be jammed. Will also get alloy wheels refurbed and clean up the engine bay properly. BUT the important thing is a mk1 Tipo is back on the road and running really well. My wife will be using it as her regular driver and she is delighted with it.
Yes Bluejohn, I do have a sunroof (electric). Took a bit of effort to get it to work , I suspect though lack of use, but now OK and no leaks so far. Would love to join a local meet sometime later in the year if others are interested.

A Tipo hotspot has developed in the Chester/Wirral/Liverpool area (y) I won't take up any more of Iggy's thread but I'd like to be involved after tackling my engine (hopefully March/April) and it would an opportunity to do some photos if people are comfortable with that.

Some photos at last!

Thanks for the compliments Michael. Yes, very pleased with the result and runs as well as it looks. Respray cost me £1500 all in which I think is fair, given poor condition of original paintwork and large number of parking dings on panels. As I said earlier, not concourse standard but more than acceptable for a car in regular use.

Well Bluejohn, seems I spoke too soon! After wind and rain last week I have noticed a bit of wet around inside of sunroof. Any tips on how to fix this? Thanks.

Recalling my Tipo Brio memories the sun roof does not have a 100% waterproof rubber end seal but has a rubber felt surfaced seal.

Any water that gets past the glass falls into the inner roof tray. This tray has FOUR drain holes (2 front, 2 back, in the tray corners). You need to check that these are not block and are draining properly. Just one being block will cause issues. Also I guess you will need to check that the drain pipes are still attached.

A question would be how much of the interior was de-trimmed/dismantled for the paint job?

Thank you. I have checked the drain holes at the front and cleared out some bits of crud so these are now running clear. Didn't know about the back ones. Will check these as well. Great to have the benefit of your knowledge!

Thanks for complement.

I find it interesting in that EVERY official Fiat scheduled service programme/item list I've ever seen they never mention anything about checking "drain" channels. This only occurs when a "fault diagnosis" investigation is called for by which time it is too late.
