I am thinking about getting a second hand Tipo and just wanted to clarify something, to help me narrow the options.
As far as I can tell, I think they all come with bluetooth, but this only allows phone calls. To be able to stream things like spotify, you need Android Auto/Car Play, which you need Lounge for.
Is this correct, if i want to stream, I need Lounge, where it is standard ?

I had assumed that if a car had bluetooth and could connect to the phone, it would be able to stream, but I don't think this is accurate.

Thanks for the reply, that has just confused me more, as you don't have Android Auto, but can stream, I assumed that would be the difference.

There is a thread on here "Bluetooth Audio Streaming in an Easy spec Tipo" says that you can't stream bluetooth on Easy trim, but on Autotrader the Easy trim does seem to have bluetooth.

May just be a function enabled with the higher specs, but I'm now wondering whether Easy Plus has it now.

Appreciate I could talk to dealer, but it's easier if I know what spec I was looking for first, and I thought it would be straight forward, perhaps not.

Not sure about UK spec as dash is different, but on basemodel 2019 I replaced the factory radio with android unit one week in and have not regretted it (bought it bit under a year old).
Only USB and aux in on the basic radio, almost feels like scam to leave it out as it has only handsfree profile.

As you say, there's different levels of Bluetooth connectivity, the wifes MG only does calls, you could always find a car supermarket with a few models in and see what ones stream, even if you have no intention of buying from them ?

OK, thanks guy. I didn't realise there was different connectivity with bluetooth, thought you had it or you didn't.

Will just keep an eye out and see what comes up.

All UK Tipo's with touchscreen can stream music via bluetooth, such as Spotify - so anything from Easy Plus trim upwards (Easy Plus, Mirror, Lounge, S-Design & Sport).

Only base model 'Easy' and similarly specced 'Street' which have a standard FM/DAB radio with Bluetooth for phone calls but no touchscreen don't allow for bluetooth audio streaming.

From 2018 Fiat switched from a 5" touchscreen to 7" and those had Apple CarPlay and Android Auto too, which means if you plug your phone into the USB slot behind the gear stick then you can view your Spotify account and more on the touchscreen, but you don't need that for basic Bluetooth Audio Streaming.

All Mirror, S-Design and Sport models get the 7" screen as those trim levels were introduced in 2018. However Easy Plus and Lounge (which were available from the Tipo's launch in 2016) get the smaller screen until late 2018/early 2019 (68 or 19 plate onwards) - I think it might be that all Easy Plus models got the smaller screen as the 'Mirror' trim effectively replaced Easy Plus around the time the screens were upgraded. I've got a 2018 S-Design and Android Auto is handy, but the standard UConnect is good enough that I don't bother plugging the phone in for Android Auto 95% of the time.
