Hi all, again im searching for more power, my 1.9 has the 8v jtd engine, but seen that the engines in astra cdti are near enough exactly the same but 16v. Ive read in a few places that the engine mounts are in the same place too. Is it possible to swap the 16v engine into my punto replacing the 8v version?

Well 2 years later its finally done, got a z19dth engine inside the punto. Waiting for mapping to be done. Haven't asked for it to be pushed, il settle for 240 if the exhaust doesn't restrict it too bad.
Specs:
Z19dth engine from an astra 1.9
Standard exhaust with decat
1756 (7+7) hybrid turbo
R80 fuel pump
2200 fuel pressure sensor
80mm maf
4 bar map sensor
Upgraded intercooler
Swirl flap delete
Upgraded clutch
Standard m32 😂🙃

Results will be on the instagram

Thats quality how you've come back after 2 years to give us an update even though no one commented on your original post. Well done on achieving the engine conversion mate and its good to know that people are still out here doing crazy engine swaps on Grande Puntos 👍🏻

So it's now officially done. Had issues with overboost for months. Unfortunately a new turbo I bought (won't mention the company as I've annoyed them enough already) was not set up correctly. Replaced map, maf, boost solenoid and new vacuum lines to no fix at first. but after replacing the turbo with a used one! The car came to life in mapping an we were able to control the boost. Made 237bhp and plenty of torque but for the life of me can't remember the exact figure. Been a long ride this has but what a start to the year. Nobody may see this but just in case. Huge shout out to TTC in South wales for pushing on with this. If you're in the area go to these for mapping
