100 bhp ford puma engine, 2007.
The yellow symbol lit up a few days ago. Next day I noticed a whistle/chattering noise from the engine.
Usually happens a couple of seconds after engine start up and then as I turn the engine off. The noise starts off high pitched and changes to low pitch, lasts about 2 seconds.
Sometimes heard on tickover.
I think I've located where its coming from. I can feel the chattering/vibration on an ali unit halfway down the engine near the elec fans.
Is this the egr valve and if so, do I need any new parts when I take it off and clean it.
If its not the egr, what is it ?
I drained the diesel filter and after 5 miles driving, the light went out but obviously the noise is still there.
Is it usual for this light to go out without plugging into the obd ?
