yellow 'code' light

hi there.

i just bought a seicento sporting 2 weeks ago, and i love it.
unfortunately, its got no user manual, and there's several things i don't know about... i'm a typical girl!
a yellow light keeps coming on saying 'code' with a key symbol. what does it mean?
also, a very basic one... where do i fill up the screenwash? both front and back?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

hi. the code light is part of the imobilsier system. it should come on when you switch the ignition on, and then go off afer a few seconds. if its coming on at other times then it might indiciate a problem.

the screen wash tank is in the drivers side wing. if you pop the bonnet, and look just behind the headlight on the drivers side you should see a little cap - screenwash geos in there and it feeds both front and rear washers

yeah it comes on when i switch on the ignition, but then sometimes it just doesn't go off again.
is there any way to tell how full the screenwash tank is? or do you just have to guess and keep topping it up?

no problem

are you using the red master key instead of one of the blue ones? that can cause that sometimes.

the screenwash res.. just fill it till it overflows

i have a little 500ml coke bottle with the bottom cut off that i use as a funnel, it fits perfectly into the screenwash res and makes it easier to pour screenwash in

yeah i've been using the red key. well if it starts to cause problems i'll get it checked out.

Thanks for the tip about the screenwash too, i looked yesterday and it does seem to be in an awkward place to get to, so i'll definitely be trying your way
