I got a Lancia Y10 FIRE 999cc from -86.. and my problem...
It just dies on me.. wait for 10-15 minutes, and it starts right upp again..

If I driving it, and it don´t dies on me, turn it off, then its about 10-15 minutes of wait again before I can start it upp again..
WHY???

And reason I writing here...
Heard there is some FIAT´s that has the same mashine under the bonnet so, where can i find it.. (in seach of spare parts)?????
(need answer before Fri 23/6..)

Please... HELP!!!!

The Panda (classic) and Uno both used the 999cc FIRE engine. The Y10 shares lots of parts with the Panda.

The Cinquecento, Seicento and Punto all used similar versions of the Fire engine with different sizes (899cc, 1100cc etc)

Place the question to Uno Technical forum, you should get a lot of feedback from there.

Thanx for the info... that realy helped me..
Moving my problem question on to the Uno Technical forum...

thanx again... =)

I had the same problem on my old y10, was the distributor. The speedo also played up before replacing it.

My was a 999cc FIRE before I dropped the 1049cc OHC turbo engine in it. It used to do the same thing. It was just the valve in the air box was not switching to suck warm air on cold days so the carb would ice up. Felt like it had run out of fuel but leave it for 5-10 mins and it would be fine again. Panda air box from my local scrappy sorted it out and only cost a nugget.

Talking of putting a volumex lump Y10's. My original idea for a silly Y10 was a Volumex lump and subframe in the back of a Y10 shell. That was before I was silly enough to think up the YX75 project involving a Y10 shell, some alfa 75 bits (gearbox, front and rear suspension) and a not so Italian rotary engine:eek:. The beauty is rear wheel drive with four seats, perfect balance, loads of power and still as easy as a Y10 to park. Hence its project name the YX75. Pictures of the build coming soon.

I had the same problem with 1 of my old Y10's - after fitting a new distributor it turned out to be the carb as it had stood for a few months before I got it back on the road again. Panda/Uno has the same 999cc engine with a similar Weber carb fitted - only a couple of digits out on the type label, but they fit and don't seem too different.

Good to hear there's still a few Y10's going - I loved mine and had it painted Broom Yellow, lowered with PI springs, Thema Turbo alloys, Y10 Turbo bumpers and GTie interior - should never have got rid!!!
