Has anyone replaced their usual halogen dipped beam bulbs with xenon ones and if so how did you get on, i.e. are they any good/better?

I've seen loads on Ebay for not much money, the ones I've seen in places like Halfords are about 20 quid a shot, is it a case of buy cheap buy twice, or even thrice!

As covered in that linked topic, you want to make sure your lenses and reflectors are good before forking out for 'better' bulbs.
You may improve the output by just sticking them in regardless, but it's possible that you'll get the same result by cleaning-up what you have.
Check your connector plugs and relay(s) as well, they deteriorate over time (wear/corrosion), and even a small drop in the voltage reaching the bulb(s) won't help much either.

I am just about to sell my JTD Eleganza with 46700miles on the clock. I replaced ALL of the bulbs with Halfords SuperBright Xenon bulbs, on offer at half price. I replaced the parking lights with LED versions. The result was BRILLIANT!!

Yes, but on such a relatively 'young' Multi, I suspect your lenses and reflectors are in very good condition (or better). (y)

Mine's done 181,000 miles now, so they're getting a bit 'tired', to say the least.
