Hi
Does anyone know how you adjust the alternator belt on the X2/50 (latest Ducato) 2.2 litre please?
The alternator appears to be bolted directly on to the engine block, with no tensioning mechanism anywhere
There is nothing else touching the belts, only the pulleys of the alternator, power steering pump, and crankshaft pulley which all appear to be in fixed positions.

I'll see if I can attach a photo

Presumably the only way of fitting a belt is removing the pulleys, or the alternator, or power steering pump?

Has anybody fitted one?

Hi
Both of these belts are stretch type no adjustment.

Thanks for the reply fubar.:)

I used to make a living as a car mechanic, but you can probably tell how long ago that was as I have never seen anything like these before

Has anybody fitted a new belt like these

or knows how long they are likely to last

Found an interesting You Tube movie, but nothing specific to the Ducato
