hi guys was just wondering if anyone knows of springs I could get to make my seicento sporting ridiculously low? I have it lowered 40 from stock and I want it atleast 20 or 30mm lower? help please :bang:

cheers
Nathan

how hight is the back of ur sei tho? mines looks kinda granny-ish and i want to make it look different, could always buy a new sump and shorten the height and shorten the oil strainer pipe too? thoughts?

cheers
Nathan

my flexible is damaged and its stock sporting you could dry sump the engine but the bell housing might be more difficult there are unfriendly sleeping policemen everywhere

Im quite lucky where I stay I can avoid them to and from work so Im not too bothered about clearances as long as it is about 2 or 3 inches from the ground :)

It'll handle badly and be pretty horrible to drive at that height.

All the better show lowered cars use some form of air suspension so they can be raised to sane heights when the car is actually being used.

One explanation (if I remember correctly) of Senna's fatal crash (albeit, not the explanation I go with) is that the car simply bottomed out.

I don't mind about handling just want the look and will have a search and see what I find :)

cheers guys

senna's steering broke, but i know what you mean if the car bottoms out the direction of travel becomes random, if you look down a lot of public roads they dip and turn especially on the bends, this is where you need suspension movement to absorb the bumps and keep the wheels touching the road (this is rather important for good handling)

That would be my best guess, too, but it was never "proven" at the inquest.

Of course, until those responsible have passed away, it's kinder to hide the truth to keep them from a possible manslaughter charge in Italy.
i know mate, an extreme case that shows even top teams with all their knowledge can get it wrong, its best to air on the side of caution, bouncing across the road into on coming traffic is not an option in my book, suspension is there to do a job not just look good, lowered springs need matched shockers ( i heard that a clio threw a spring when it went airborn at the nurbugring, spun the clio and bent the steering wheel of the following caterham very lucky for all)
