It's bad enough waking up in the morning and seeing wrinkles appear without my Fiat 500 doing the same :)

Specifically, the wrinkles have appeared on my cream leather steering wheel.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same - and if they know what causes this to happen?

It doesn't seem to be on the part of the steering wheel I predominantly use for driving.

Could it be sun damage? Is there a cure or a preventative step I can take?

(Don't say use Factor 15!!!)

I have a similar thing in my punto HGT with "leather" steering note the inverted commas I am not 100% convinced it's real leather, on mine it is on the right hand outer edge near the drivers door/heater vent which is where my number 1 theory for what is to blame lies

Common problem with Fiat using that fake PLeather (pretend leather) vinyl type stuff. I had it on my grande, just peeled it all off as it was annoying me, wheel looked rubbish so brought a real leather one off ebay for £30 ;)

No cure i'm afraid, other than a steering wheel cover (what my dad used on his 500 when it happened to him.)
