Does anyone no if they will class my car as a right off as the damage that i can see is a wing and bumper and the wheel was sorta bent in which is now fixed and turned out to be the strut

Like you said wing and bumper. But maybe the strut was damaged but who knows what else is? Is there any internal damage or buckling? Is the alloy buckled aswell?

nothing else wrong at all now the wheel is fixed the car is normal it drives straight.but i am not too sure what the book value is for a 2.0 hgt

Insurance company will replace the wing and bumper at full price. They will then need to spray the bumper and wing, and they will then blend the wing into the door, otherwise you'll get an awful colour difference.

Whats the mileage and age of your car and current condition?

If you dont have your mods declared insurance wont pay up full stop.

write off

i dont have any mods i have declared my wheels

97000 miles

If you can avoid going through insurance you'll avoid it being written off. For some reason, What Car evaluation of your car, if its a 1999 (S) 2.0 HGT with 97K, is

Dealer £1,255
Private £555
Part exchange £305
Trade £205

This is obviously not accurate but if insurance companies use something like this, then your car will be a write off.

my car is a 97 do you really personally think this is a right off then

I lightly dented my wing, bonnet and needed a new light. Was Quoted £900 repair from insurance. Thats for a 2001 JTD HLX. Yours looks worse than mine did.

Mel, im sorry to say that will certainly be a write off.

You were very lucky if there is no damage to inner wing or any other panels or plastics.

My mother had an accident similar to that not long ago and the price for the wing and bumper alone is over £500 from Fiat. Then with labour and paint on top you are looking at the best part of four figures if not more (depending on where you take it).

If you really love it then fix it (could be done for as little as £300 yourself if the damage is exactly as you say). Otherwise scrap it and buy another car, HGT or otherwise.

At the end of the day even if you repair it your car will have a title (should it be written-off), be worth less than you paid to repair it almost, be un-saleable when you want to get rid of it and everytime you look at it you will be p*ssed off that some moron ruined your car. So unless you are prepared to run it into the ground and keep it for years and years id say its time to say goodbye.

Hope you get it sorted one way or another.

Ben.
