Would a faulty heater matrix in a marea cause a loss of vacuum and cause it to cut ou

Hi all,Please feel free to give me any info on my marea.It drops revs on tick over and cuts out when approaching corners, Ive been told its a loss of vacuum.Could a leaky /faulty heater matrix be to blame?

No, check all rubber & plastic pipes around the Throttle Body and to the air cleaner...

Unless you have lost all your coolant due to the leaky matrix & the engine is chronically overheating of course...

coolant is all in place.ive checked pipes and even renewed clips and can see no obvious signs of holes or escapes.....

Fuel starvation? When was the fuel filter replaced last? Blocked air cleaner / filter... ditto on when last changed. When was tha last service?

Try cleaning the throttle body with carb cleaner?

not too sure about filters.Funny its started now just after i bought the vehicle.the car has done 66 thou and the last recorded service at 12 thou

Maybe it was sold because of the problem... anyway, start with a good proper service, include the fuel filter etc, if it has really gone 54,000 miles without a service it could be spark-plugs, leads... anyones guess. Might be worth trying a fuel system cleaning additive?

Do a search on here for cleaning throttle bodies and see what happens.

Im really grateful for your in put foxy,Il try running some redex through and a service,Start at the basics,Just when something like this happens its always easy to fear the worst.
