My Son has a Uno 45 1989 reg,the rear nearside tail red light seems to work intermittently, removed the rear lens and moved bulbs around, checked the fuses and as much of the wiring as poss, still no ideas?
Whilst having the engine running doing the above it ran out of fuel (he obviously left it running on fumes) topped up and now will not start, turns over prefectly but just wont fire, with or without choke, any ideas? not very mechanically minded though.Tartdog.

If you remove the NS parcel shelf support & pull back the carpet you`ll see the rear light connector plug, pull it off, clean the connections & spray some switch lubricant on them (WD40 will do, but its not as good).

As far as the no-start goes it sounds like you may have drawn up the crap from the bottom of the tank.

Take the air box off the carb, then, while someones turnng it over, spray WD40 or carb cleaner into the carb, if it starts you know you have a fueling problem, if it doesnt you have an ignition/electrical problem or possibly another bad connection or earth.

Update, well after a visit to the local garage, needed a Ducellier Ignition Module something that attaches to the distributor cap?,and the light was down to a problem with the wiring which they cut and picked the power up from the rear number plate light,so am sorted again, untill the next problem, which for some reason there is no red handbrake light being shown on the dashboard, not the bulb as I have changed that!

Check the little spring switch underneath the handbrake.

Its a phillips head screw to take the until out - mine got clogged up with crap and used to not show the light. Its the same typeof switch with the interior light and the spring switches in the door-arches.

They are easy to take apart, clean and put back together.
