Hi chaps,

Had the Seicento Sporting for a week now but I've noticed when idling the car is'nt that loud but you can feel the odd thump through the pedals. When I hitched up the bonnet today the air filter housing seems to vibrate a bit (fluctuates) along with the sliver metal thing down below in front of it (manifold???). I would'nt of thought this is normal. Its not that loud but would expect the car to be silky smooth at under 2 years old with no more than 4000 on the clock.

Any ideas? I'm gonna nip to Fiat shortly. Oh I have accidentally gone near 4000rpm in first a couple of times (takes getting used to this low gear ratio) but that must have been literally 3 or 4 times.....that would'nt harm it would it?

Arrggghh!

[:(!]

They idle a bit rough anyway, your rev counter if you have one should be around 750-900 rpm

I have considerably more mods, THAN YOU!

4000 is fine if its warmed up, and not "that" bad if its not constant when cold. itll go lots further hehe.

i wouldn't worry about 4k rpm m8, not a big issue at all, the sei's can take it , even in 1st ;)

I redline mine loads. The Cinq handbook even says "The vehicle should only be driven at red area speeds for breif periods" - which kinda gives you a bit of leeway![8D]

Might be worth a new set of plugs - I'd go for Bosch super 4's - but they all feel like they almost 'miss' the odd one here and there anyway.

Pete.
