Technical Wondering what this connects to?

So I'm in the process of stripping my 500L in order to get it sand blasted and came upon this pull under the dash. The wire is snapped in the central tunnel so I could not find where it is connected. I am guessing it has something to do with the heating, could not find it in the manuals. Anyway, thought it would be good to replace while things are apart so just trying to figure out what it is.

As 'Toshi' has mentioned,it is a hand throttle which connects to the accelerator arm inside the centre consol. It should ONLY be used as an 'engine warm-up' device, NOT as a cruise-control!!!
