I own a new shape punto, and every stereo i try seems not to work, i'm sure its the wiring and there is no available wiring harness adaptor. Any know the answer?
Dave

when i put a sony headunit in my punto i used the wiring adapter that came with it

the only thing i had to do was to join both the power cables together, red/yellow, there was space on the iso to do this

i spent hours trying to work out why the headunit wasnt working, then eventually just had the idea of joining both together and 'hey presto' it worked :D

there is a wiring adapter available for the punto mk2/2.5, it uses one connector block instead of the two that was supplied with headunit

I take it these are the red and yellow wires from the HU, you plug them both into the red/white wire on the punto?
Sorry to be complicated..
Dave

the red/yellow wires are from the headunit and go into the iso adapter

the iso adapter is then plugged into the punto wiring block, from what i remember i put the yellow wire into the red wire, there is a sticky thread in the ice section about it

Right, well on my iso connector on the HU, the red wire doesnt wire up to anything on the car iso.

So i reckon if i connect the red wire into the yellow one, as the yellow wire connects to the permenant feed on the car loom.

If that make sense???

that might be it :)

for some strange reason the punto has only one power source on the wiring block  i never experienced this problem before in either my uno or seicento

does the yellow wire have space on the iso to do this, i know mine had an extra slot for a wire to go into

If u mean on the connector block on the HU, it has a space either side of the the yellow though, i though you put the yellow and red in the same space, put they both wont fit in.

Not sure how to connect these wires together?

On my head unit though, there is an extra space, half way up the wire, which allows you to connect another wire to it, could this be it.
