My current wireless setup (D-Link DSL-G604T) has finally given up the ghost. Tried firmware upgrade, channel swapping, factory reset etc but nothing.

Now my overall setup is this; Netgear RP114 (yes it's an oldie) Cable Router with the D-Link connected and used as a wireless access point.

The Netgear has been solid for a good 4-5 years. However now I think it's time to invest in a new wireless router.

My obvious choice and I'm probably more biased towards it is something from Netgear. I was looking at a WPN624 but I'm wondering if it is the "best" out there.

All suggestions appreciated ;)

Had a google around, and noticed that some people like me have had zero issues with their netgear's, others have had problems galore.

Whats annoying is if someone has posted a negative review, is it because they just didn't setup the router right in the first place and gave up or is the product poor?

i have the same d-link as you, mine give up last week funnily enough, i bought one from argos and sawpped the routers over and took my old one back saying it was faulty and got my money back  naughty i know.. but they have more money than me (y)

Who just admitted to fraud :chin: :p

we were all given netgear DG834G wirelss router/modems from work, after multiple failures they've scrapped them all and given us Belkin Wireless G Plus Routers (F5D7231-4). I personally found the netgear to be best, it was definately faster, but they were both same speed on paper.

I use a Belkin wireless G router 2.4 ghz - 54mbps.

seems ok, the first one i had was crap, it would be ok through the day then when it got late the thing would keep going off without fail, i thought there was a bloody timer on there or something lol.

started getting worse so playing about with the wires to it and it kept going on and off, took it back and got a new one been fine since (touch wood)
