Hi, this is Martin in Ohio. My car is a 1981 Fiat Spider, f.i.. Attached a couple of pics for your enjoyment.

Question is about electrical connectors. Several places in the car use box connectors with up to six tangs and six recepticles. I am doing some wiring modifications to put in an oil pressure guage and want to understand how to disassemble the recepticle side of the wire connector. It looks like the recepticles should come out of the connector plastic cover, but not sure how to do with without mangling the plastic.

Can you advise me on the procedure with this??

Thanks and Regards,

Martin [email protected]

The metal recepticles lock into the plastic insulator housing with a small metal spike. The plastic housing has a small cut-out that you can push a small screwdriver into to flatten the spike. If reusing the metal connectors, don't forget to raise the spike before refitting them.
