This may sound so so dumb... But what the hell connects the two wiped blade arms.. Ive attached a picture of the bit I mean..

Second, just bought my new lambda sensor but it's triple the length of my original?! Does this make a difference?
More worried about sensor then wipers

did wiper mechanism break?
lambda wire is longer or lambda itself?
attachment.php

The mechanism is fine lol but the right wiper fell away from the main drivers side wiper. Got a cable tie holding em together atm as a temp fix.
The sensor itself is perfect Match at both ends, it's just the wiring is damn huge

Sensor wiring - dont worry too much
Just coil it up - ensure its not able to rub / sit on anything hot like the manifold etc

As long as the sensor fits and is same as old - it'll be fine

-----

Punto wiper linkages are terrible - and super well known for failing
The ball joints on the extreme sides (not where the central one is as such)
Fail because of excessive wear - as a result they DO DROP OFF

Fixes?

1 - New whole wiper linkage / motor unit = £££
2 - Wipex Repair linkages - Works, but will fail again due to wear in the plastic and allready exsisting wear on the balls
3 - Pin / nut / washer / welded washer - its works, but the slop will show up more and more
As wipers over and under wipe
Excessive wear and right amount of force can cause the wiper to go the wrong way
4 - Scrap yard part, will fail probably quicker then you think

Ziggy

Thanks for your help ziggy, tried fitting the new sensor today but can't seem to get a grip on it due to everything else in the way, so can't even see What size I need!

I found with an adjustable they just wouldn't budge.
Cheapo combination spanner from ebay did the job nicely. 80% sure it's a 22mm...

Cheers guys, just got to find one small enough to be able to turn it now!

i think lambda is size 22 spanner

Can't find a spanner small enough in length to be able to turn so tonight ima try cutting it off and using the circular end and thread through the wire to it!

Wire plug won't fit through ring spanner,so you will need to use open ended spanner.try undoing sensor after a run,and hope exhaust expands a bit,and undoes easier.

I fitted the repair clips from eBay to mine. Need to remove the motor and linkages from the car (2 extra bolts) and then I attached the clip to the one that broke. I tried to detach the other side but it's still on nice and strong.
