Styling Wing mirror Mk1

Hi guys, some **** has knocked off my offside wing mirror. Can any one tell me how do i take it off so i can attempt to repair it.

Nice one. It says that you have to unclip it from the top? there is the metal mirror adjuster that seems to be in the way. The plastic cover looks like it could be unclipped, but how do i take off the ring part of the adjuster?

i think you can use long nose pliers, or thats what i think most people do
