Windshield wipers come on without touching the switch

Hi,

I have a 2012 Fiat 500 Lounge (USA) and recently the windshield wipers turn on without touching the switch. Every time it happens I hear a "click" noise on the passenger seat (it happens ever 5 minutes).

I am afraid that something major is going on and I don't feel confident in driving the car.

The car is still under manufacturing warranty, but I am not sure if this will be covered.

Any suggestions?

welcome to the forum, is it raining when it does it? some cars have rain detectors in that turn wipers on
