windows...rattle, rattle

I've got an HGT155 and both drivers and passengers door windows rattle when closed. Very seldom open the windows in this weather so I don't know if they rattle when down. Is the rattle fixable? Anyone know how, what, where and how much?!

when i bought my hlx 98s the drivers side interior panel made a rattle noise but it sounded like the window.

turns out the interior panel had to come off for some reason in its past and the clips that fix the interior panel to the bottom of the window had been bodged in and not put in properly. I took off the whole interior drivers side panel and put the little metal clips (about 8 of em ish) back in correctly. you have to fix the clips on the interior panel and then put the interior panel into the black seal to get it to work right.

Does the interior panel where it meets the windows have some movement in it albeir a few millimetres, if so then this maybe it, there shouldn't be any movement, only bending when pushed hard.

The metal clips make the rattling sound when not in properly

Cheers, I'll have a look at the interior panels. I think it is the glass though, it makes a creaking noise when you press hard, along the top edge.

creeking vs rattling

if its a creeking as apposed to rattling then it depends on how much.

my windows creek a bit, but only when the car is doing a manouvre like dismounting a kerb at an angle.

if its really annoying then something will have gone belly up!

won't be the metal clips if its a creeking sound, plus getting the panels off can be a pain, i dunno, you do as you think

creaking AND rattling

I think the cold has something to do with it. If you press against the top edge of the glass it creaks, well it's a bit like the crunch you get with proper snow. The roads around where I live aren't good. Many of the bumps cause the windows to make the same noise. I was wondering if the edging strip needs to be replaced. The strip at the bottom edge of the window is fine - no noise there. I never noticed the noise in warmer weather, only if it's really cold. I think I'll just ignore it and hope it goes away.

on mine the windows rattle quite badly, if you press against them outwards the rattling stops.
