Hi Qubo Fans, I have just purchased and had delivered a set of Wind Deflectors for the front windows on my Qubo. The instructions for fitting them are a little unclear, so I thought I'd pose the questions to you lot out there, in case any of you have already fitted a set. My query is, the two little metal clips which go up into the window channel to secure the deflector have a short tongue at one side and a longer tongue at the other side, which side goes toward the rear of the vehicle, short or long ?? It may be that either way will do, just thought before I have a go at fitting I would ask. Any other fitting tips would be appreciated.
Cheers Qube O:confused:

A quick call to the bodyshop may be best, I have noticed in the past that Fiat instructions are not the best.
I fitted a set to a VW we had, and I cant remember which way the clips went in. I think the clips are more to stop the units from being stolen more that securing them to the car.

Fitted some to my fiorino, the clips go in ''toothed'' side to the inside, they do need fitting so that the window clears them on the way up.
I fitted one right at the back, and the other on the front leading edge.

Morning Qubo...just wondered how you went with the wind deflectors? thinking about adding some to mine

Hi Fellow Qubo'ist, Fitted my deflectors a while ago now, they fitted dead easy, and have stayed in place with no problems. They work well in respect of leaving the windows slightly open either when in motion, (its cuts out the wind noise), or when the car is parked in the sun. Also of course great for when its raining, as it keeps the water off the side windows. You can pick the genuine items (like mine) up off Ebay at times for silly money compared to the full Dealer price.......
Cheers Qube O.:D

Anyone notice an increase in fuel consumption after fitting these? It wouldn't be huge, maybe a couple of tenths of a MPG? Would be more noticible if you drive a lot on motorways or fast A Roads.

Thanks

I don't think you have the perspective of driving around 35,000 miles a year, year in and year out. In that case, small differences do add up to something over the life of the car.

And I know that driving with the windows open adds to aerodynamic drag and increases your fuel consumption by up to 5%. Because of that I tend not to do it.

well....sod it I bit the bullet and decided to grab a set...hopefully delivered weds so looking forward to fitting etc

Well done, another plus point is, at the right time of year when the sun in off to the right of the car, they act as a sun shade, help keeps the annoying sun glare out of the eyes.
Have fun fitting them, its easy, just take your time. Let us know how you get on.
Cheers Qube O.:)
