General Winches. Anyone done it?

So, with ambulancetomongolia .com in full swing we need to get a winch fitted. Has anyone ever fitted a winch on a ducato?

Also can anyone recommend some good mounting points for the winch bumper? Just below the bumper is a steel rail that doesnt deem to do much do ya reckon that would be strong enough? For those of you familiar with the underside of a 1999 ducato itrs right at the front of the vehicle directly under the bumper, the towing eye is bolted to it.

I can't coment on the winch, but I do know that the rail is prone to rotting away, often from the back to the front, so make sure it's solid.

The vehicle is in very good condition, no rust at all on either the body or underside. Thats NHS care for you!

Any other winch mounting ideas? basically a point that can withstand a pull of about 5tonnes.
